MSU administers academic integrity through the Student Honor Code Office, which serves as the central office for records, investigations, and education. Cases not handled by faculty members go to a Hearing Panel of the Student Honor Code Council consisting of three faculty members and two student members, plus a non-voting Chair.
Faculty report Honor Code violations to the Student Honor Code Office. All students admitted to MSU agree to abide by the Honor Code. Faculty may resolve some cases directly; contested cases or those beyond course-level sanctions proceed to a Student Honor Code Council Hearing Panel.
