What is AdvocatED?

AdvocatED is a nationwide education advising service that helps students and families navigate academic misconduct allegations, disciplinary hearings, Title IX investigations, academic dismissals, and other institutional proceedings. We are not a law firm. We are education advisors who specialize exclusively in understanding and working within university and school disciplinary systems.

An education advisor is a professional who understands how school conduct processes work from the inside: how hearing panels evaluate cases, what appeals committees look for, how to present evidence effectively, and how to build the strongest possible case within an institution's own policies. Education advising focuses on preparing students to advocate for themselves within their school's process, which is what the vast majority of academic and disciplinary cases actually require.

The key difference between an education advisor and a law firm is scope and approach. Traditional legal representation is essential when there are parallel criminal proceedings or when a case may end up in civil court. For the vast majority of student conduct cases, including academic misconduct hearings, dismissal appeals, and Title IX proceedings, a strategic education advisor brings deeper specialized knowledge of campus processes than most general practice attorneys. And because we focus exclusively on education matters, we can offer that expertise at a significantly lower cost with faster response times.

Why We Started AdvocatED

We started AdvocatED because we saw firsthand how the system fails students. Too often, bright, capable students face life-altering consequences, not because they're guilty, but because they didn't know how to effectively present their case or navigate the appeals process.

We saw students who couldn't afford lawyers being steamrolled by institutions that have entire legal and administrative departments working these cases daily. We saw families draining their savings to hire attorneys who didn't understand academic processes and treated every situation like a courtroom drama. What was needed was someone who understood how conduct boards actually work.

Most importantly, we saw that the vast majority of these cases don't require legal representation. They require expertise, strategy, and someone who genuinely cares about the student's future.

So we built AdvocatED: a team of experienced education advisors who know these processes inside and out, who respond quickly and personally, and who charge fair prices for expert guidance.

What Makes AdvocatED Different

You Talk to Your Advisor, Not an Intake Coordinator

When you reach out to AdvocatED, you talk directly to your advisor. You will not be bounced from staff member to staff member or handed off after intake. We understand that timing matters when you're facing a deadline or a crisis, so we respond quickly and personally to every inquiry.

Deep, Specific Expertise in Student Processes

Our advisors specialize exclusively in student academic and disciplinary matters. We've handled hundreds of cases across different types of schools and understand the nuances of institutional policies, from UVA's single-sanction Honor Committee to Ohio State's COAM to Harvard's Administrative Board. Generic advice isn't good enough.

Fair, Transparent Pricing

We believe expert guidance should be accessible. Because we specialize exclusively in education matters, we deliver the same caliber of strategic expertise as law firms, often more specialized, at a significantly lower cost. We're transparent about pricing from the start, and every engagement begins with a free case review.

We Work With Both Students and Families

We regularly work with students and their parents together. Many families find it helpful to have everyone on the same page about strategy and next steps. We meet you where you are, whether you're a student in crisis or a parent trying to help your child through the most stressful situation of their life.

Judgment-Free

Whether you made a mistake, were falsely accused, or are navigating something complicated, we're not here to judge. We're here to help you present the strongest possible case and move forward.

AdvocatED is not a law firm

AdvocatED provides strategic education advising services and does not provide legal representation or legal advice. We are not a law firm. Our advisors are education consultants who provide guidance on academic and disciplinary processes. Consultations do not create an attorney-client relationship. For cases that require legal representation (such as those involving parallel criminal proceedings), we'll tell you upfront.
